Your Website Contact Form: 7 Tips to Get More Enquiries
Contact forms are critical. A poorly designed form loses enquiries. Optimize yours for maximum conversions.
Tip 1: Keep it short
10 fields = 70% drop-off rate. 3 fields = 10% drop-off. Only ask for essentials: name, email, message. Optional fields: phone, company.
Tip 2: Clear, obvious submit button
Use a bright color. Say "Send enquiry" or "Get a quote," not just "Submit." Make it obvious it's clickable.
Tip 3: No CAPTCHA required
CAPTCHAs are annoying. 5% of users won't complete them. Use honeypot fields (hidden fields bots fill) instead.
Tip 4: Add a success message
When submitted, show "Thank you! We'll reply within 24 hours." This reduces anxiety that the form didn't work.
Tip 5: Actually respond quickly
A contact form that nobody responds to is useless. Reply within 1-2 hours. Show you care.
Tip 6: Place it prominently
Hero section, footer, and dedicated contact page. Don't bury it.
Tip 7: Mobile optimized
50%+ of visitors are mobile. Ensure your form is easy to fill on phones.
